Nish Srikantha is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma Specialist at the Hampshire Hospitals NHS trust. Nish runs NHS clinics at Basingstoke and Alton hospitals, where he provides care for the management of Glaucoma, General Ophthalmology and Cataracts.
He is the department lead for the Ophthalmic Common Clinical Competency Framework, a programme aimed at non-medical eye healthcare professionals obtaining knowledge and skills needed to deliver patient care. He is also an Educational and Clinical Supervisor for trainee doctors on the Ophthalmic specialist training programme. Nish is a Royal College Examiner and is involved in the recruitment and training of junior doctors in the Ophthalmology profession.
Nish is also the Governance lead for the department. This makes him responsible for the quality improvement of services, safeguarding and ensuring it’s high standards, therefore creating an environment in which excellence in clinical care flourishes.
